Body

NetBird Mesh Topology (Lab Overlay)

Purpose

The UAI lab uses a NetBird-style mesh overlay (wt0 interface) to carry Explorer, Mesh, Switchboard, and operator surface traffic across hosts that are not on the same flat LAN. This entry summarizes the known topology; per-host mesh details live in each host's hardware entry.

Current State

  • Status: active.
  • Overlay type: NetBird-style wt0.
  • Beacon VPS mesh IP: 100.119.16.109/16.
  • CT103 mesh IP: 100.119.15.216/16 on wt0; also has tailscale0.
  • Mac mesh IP: 100.119.8.94 (intermittent — has timed out historically).
  • NUC-IPEX mesh peer: desktop-as09l7o.netbird.cloud (frequently Idle — SSO expired; operator action to re-login).
  • NUC Tailscale (legacy): 100.118.188.107/32.

Key Components / Locations

  • Overlay interface: wt0 on Beacon, CT103, Mac, NUC-IPEX.

Relationships

  • Carries traffic for: uai-doc-..., uai-doc-ecosystem-product-uai-mesh, uai-doc-ecosystem-product-switchboard.
  • Underlay: uai-doc-ecosystem-mesh-lab-lan-10-0-0.
  • Participating hosts: uai-doc-ecosystem-hardware-nuc-ipex, -macbook-air, -ct103, and the Beacon VPS.
