Body

MacBook Air (Operator Secondary Device)

Purpose

The MacBook Air is the operator's secondary device. It serves as an SSH jumphost from the production Beacon VPS to the Proxmox Director host (pve250), and it is the only place where Mac-side Rust rebuilds can be performed (e.g., the Beacon basic_auth B.1.2 work which halted because no Mac access was available from the coordinator session).

Current State

  • Status: active.
  • Hostname: scotts-MacBook-Air.local.
  • LAN: 10.0.0.83.
  • Mesh: 100.119.8.94 (intermittent — has timed out historically; LAN IP 10.0.0.83 is more reliable from Beacon over the lab underlay).

Key Components / Locations

  • SSH from Beacon: ssh scott@10.0.0.83 (LAN); verify from the network namespace you are in.
  • SSH alias on Mac to Director: pve250 → root@10.0.0.250.
  • Claude binary: /usr/local/lib/node-v25.8.1/bin/claude.
  • Mac user shell env: /Users/scott/.zshrc (secret-bearing — may carry Claude/Z.ai env).

Relationships

  • Jumphost to: uai-doc-... (the canonical credential-free path Beacon → Mac → Director → pct exec).
  • Sibling devices: uai-doc-ecosystem-hardware-nuc-ipex (primary), uai-doc-ecosystem-hardware-zenbook (tertiary).

Status

active.
